The academy elected their winning films in 1975, The greatest robbery in the history of the academy, Art Carney takes home the best male lead award that night, beating the monstrous performance by Al pacino, the genius performance by Dustin Hoffman and the tremendously vibrant performances by Jack Nicholson and Albert Finney. To date i still don’t comprehend why voters gave Art Carney (in a ultra super inferior performance, not even that, a forgettable role to date) the oscar for best actor.

When i was 16, researching oscar’s history i was shocked, having watched all films nominated that year, i shat my pants (not literally) when i realized that the reason why voters gave Art Carney the oscar that night was because those old bastards hated method actors and even classic trained actors like Albert finney was hated as well, Finney was more a method actor on his own way than many actors of his age (Finney was trained in the classic british style but he is perhaps the equivalent of Brando in great britain).

For this and many other reasons, i believe and know that the academy of motion pictures is rigged and irrelevant.
